Hi Ida, How are you doing on your taper and with the new antibiotic? So your doctor says you may have Lyme Disease. Good grief! Will the treatment be the cure for it? I assume that it can be erased from your body with the antibiotic. At least, I sure hope so! How is your pain and fatigue? Do you think your PMR is gone, as your doctor says? That certainly would be good! As for me, I am only on my 3rd shot of Humira. I had a four week setback with that bad flu last month! I have never been that sick! I had the flu shot back in October, but it was on the news, that the CDC didn't make the flu shot effective for this terrible flu, the Fujian strain. The CDC had some financial issues, etc.. My internist doctor said that this flu was the worst she has seen in her patients and that it really knocked people out for a long time. I am having some good and some mediocre results with Humira, but it's too soon to judge. I should give it a few months before knowing if it works better than Enbrel did for me. The goal is for it to work well enough that I can taper my dose of Prednisone, which has been at 15mg for a long time now. I am not feeling as much fatigue since starting Humira, but it seems to lose some of it's effectiveness for my swelling and joint pain, during the few days before my next shot is due. It is taken once every two weeks, usually, but some people require it weekly. That bothers me. I would rather go back on Enbrel, than double the Humira dose. By the way, I never got sick while on Enbrel for the entire 6 months! I don't know if that was just luck, or what! Let me know how you are doing, Ida! I love hearing from you!
