I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 10 years ago and have even been to Mayo Clinic for help. Have been on numerous medications including anti-depressants for sleep and I feel that none of the medicines helped the fibromyalgia. But, when I came down with polymyalgia reheumatica in March, I knew something was wrong. The elevated sed rate and the elevated CPR was the thing that cinched the PMR. Also, responding to Prednisone. However,the fibromyalgia has not responded to the prednisone. Therefore, the blood tests and a good doctor following your case is imperative in the correct treatment. I too can not get below 10mg of prednisone which I was told by my rheumy would cause cataracts and eye exams are a must. I have also had the temporal artery biopsy for Giant Cell Arteritis which thanks heaven I don't have. Has Plaquenil helped anyone as my rheumy has mentioned trying this?
