Hi Ida, I'm so glad to hear from you! I know what you mean about not feeling as well as when we were on a little higher dose of the Prednisone. At least you have gotten down to 8mg. That is very good! I am still at 12mg, and I am struggling to stay there. It's been almost 4 weeks at this dose, and I have had increased pain and mild swelling, so I don't dare attempt another taper yet. I called my doctor, and he recommended I wait another 2 to 3 weeks before going down to 11mg. That sounds reasonable to me. Sometimes PMR can stay for life, but as you said, there are worse things, and we have to try to focus on today. Life can be a real struggle, though, as we get older. It can be harder to find reasons to smile, but we have to try. Right. I may still have PMR along with my RA, but it is hard to know, since the RA requires more medicine and higher doses of Prednisone than PMR to get it under control. I am grateful that there are good drugs out there to help us, and I am especially grateful for my very good doctor! We just have to keep up the good fight, Ida. Best wishes and post soon. Shar
