Hi Shar- Glad to hear from you and hope your holidays were pleasant. How are you doing on the lower dose of prednisone? It's amazing how a small change can make a difference- either way. Hope this time you can stay on the lower dose without the fatigue and pain. I have been on 10 mg prednisone daily since November and have felt fatigue, pain and stiffness. On Jan. 1 I started on 10/9 mg. alternate days and for some reason now feel better?? Next week I begin taking 9 mg every day until I see the doctor at the end of January. I wonder if this is some kind of remission. I first became sick in July, 1999- with a lung filled with fluid and a high sedrate. My doctor at first thought I had Lupus and had me on 40 mg of prednisone. However, he sent me to a rheumy who for some reason tapered me completely off the prednisone and my sedrate jumped to 100. I went to another doctor in Feb. 2000, who diagnosed the PMR. (So my two years are up and I should be cured, if what they say is true about PMR lasting two years). What else do you take besides prednisone? Do you exercise? I find it hard to get myself started, but I do make myself walk (like parking far away from where I am going). Can you suggest anything else? Wishing you a healthy, happy New Year. Ida
