Hi Kayva, It's good to hear that your PMR went away a year ago. That is wonderful! I'm sorry to hear that you suffered stress fractures from taking Prednisone, though. That is terrible! Did your rheumatologist test your bones now and then in order to help prevent such a serious problem? Are you taking anything to strengthen your bones now? My rheumatologist has had my bones scanned each year, since I've been on Prednisone for almost 4 years, and I have been fortunate not to have any problem with my bones. In fact, they have tested out as good as a young adult female, with very good bones! I am very pleased about that! I may no longer have PMR, but I definitely have Rheumatoid Arthritis, which I was diagnosed with almost 3 years ago. Just when my PMR was under good control on a very low dose of Prednisone, RA surfaced. Such is life. I feel very lucky, though, since there are new medicines, such as Enbrel, to control my RA. I have a very good rheumatologist, too, who has been aggressive about treating my RA, so that joint damage can be kept away. Best wishes, Kayva. Shar
