Hi Shar- Hope you are enjoying the summer and are feeling better. How are you doing on the new infusion medicine? I answered you in June, but the date was not posted. Since then, there is nothing much new. My rheumatologist says the way I feel (fatigued, tired, achy) may be due to the kidney and lung problems. See below. I may be scheduled for kidney surgery, but will learn more later this summer. So far, I am still tapering the Prednisone, now on 9/8mg. Hope all is well with you and you are feeling better. Best wishes, Ida Previous Message 283 of 283 Ida : 06/01/2007 Hello Shar- How are you feeling? Along with the PMR, do you have joint pain as well? I wish there was a medicine that really works for all the symptoms. For me, the worst is the fatigue and the achiness that goes along with it. In 1999 I had fluid in my lungs (pleural effusion). They took out fluid and found there were no cancer or heart cells in the fluid- only inflammation!! Six months later I was diagnosed with PMR and have been on Prednisone ever since. Recently I was supposed to have kidney surgery (another story) and they saw the shadows in my lungs. I am seeing a specialist at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital and he says it is an arthritic lung. He is not giving me anything for it and I think they don't do much for it. I see my rheumatologist later in June and maybe she has an answer. How are you? Do you know the advantage of the new infusion medication you are supposed to start? Also, are there any side effects? I have a feeling this disease is an ongoing thing. However, I am grateful for any good days and I hope you also have many good days. Be well, Ida
