Hi Ida, I'm glad to hear from you. I check this site nearly every day looking for your post. The site is down quite often. I was glad to see that it was up tonight. It sounds good that you are getting your dose of Prednisone down, but it's a shame that it means you have to endure more pain for a while. Did your doctor say about how long he thought the pseudo arthritis would last? I hope not too long. I broke my foot and have a cast on now. It is a bad break, according to the orthopedic doctor, and may even require surgery. I guess it happened when I took a fall a couple of weeks ago while running to catch a trolley in Boston. I must have cracked the bone, and then last week, I heard it pop while I was walking in the house barefoot. It hurt a lot then, so I knew it must have broken. It had been a little bit tender for a few days before the actual break. The doctor said it can happen to anyone, and it is not related to my medicines or my rheumatic disease. My last bone scan was very good, and that was just done a couple months ago. I am still on 12mg of Prednisone, but my rheumy is taking me off of the Methotrexate to see if I truly need it. He also had x-rays taken of my hands, and they do not show any erosion. That is good news. He said that maybe my disease does not require aggressive treatment at this time. I am still on Enbrel, which is very good for preventing progression of rheumatoid arthritis. He thinks my PMR is under control at this time. I hope your pain lessens with each day, Ida. Take good care. Post soon. Shar
