Hi Ida, Oh I am so sorry that you had such a painful experience! I hope you are feeling much better by now. It must have been scary having to rush to the ER. Thank goodness, the doctor found nothing new wrong. How are you doing on the Prednisone now? Have you begun tapering yet? I know how frustrating it can be to have to rely on this drug, but sometimes, we simply have no choice. I'm still on a fairly high dose. I tapered to 14mg this week. I am hopeful that I'll have better luck with this taper since I am on Mobic. I have had breathing problems for the past several weeks, and my doctor has been concerned. I am scheduled for an echocardiogram next week. He wants to make sure my heart is okay. He also mentioned that Enbrel can sometimes cause weakened cantractability of the heart muscle, and I've been on that drug for almost two years. It has been helpful, but not miraculous. But still, I really don't want to have to stop it. I'm also on Mobic, which is an older NSAID. It may be the cause of my breathing problems. It seems that I started having the shortness of breath sometime after starting Mobic. It's always something! Of course, I did gain a lot of weight these last three months because my Prednisone had been upped to 25mg for a while and then for another month, I was on 20mg. The weight gain could be source of the breathing difficulties. We'll have to see. The doctor had x-rays taken of my lungs, and they were clear. That is a blessing, at least. Let me know how you are doing, Ida. I hope things are going better for you now. Take good care, Ida. Shar
