You would not believe the problems we had and are still having keeping our children lice and nit free. The oldest is 11 and has had them off and on since first grade. Our youngest is 19 months and ever since she got them in day care when she was about 10 months, she has never been rid of them. Everything we've tried has failed. I am doing EVERYTHING that i can think of, washing everything, using bedding spray everyday, picking, combing, washing, we even died the oldest's hair, because the amonia strips the hair of everything. It just seems like they grow out of their heads. I know they are being infested from school but the school doesn't do headchecks (small town). The health dept. won't get involved because lice don't carry diseases, they are just annoying parasites. I've gotten a couple new ideas from this site, so thank you, hopefully they work.
