I don't know what the guy is talking about with the flaps, maybe this is something new. However, adult tonsillectomy can solve a lot of problems and you may have to put up with one really sore throat for a few days in order to be rid of the chronic situation. The important part is to keep the air really humid to prevent drying of the membranes and to take plenty of fluids to keep the tissues moist. It takes about 10 days to recover where you will really feel like doing very much. Good Luck
