Ouch. That's all I hve to say on day three after my tonsilectomy. Mine were removed on Thursday, the 15th of April, and I have to say that although I thought I was mentally prepared for the after-effects of the surgery, I admit now I was not. The pain, the discomfort, the globs of dark green and sometime blood tinged mucous...it's pretty horrible, actually. The good thing is I expect to be rid of the problems I had before this surgery, which included excesss lymphoid tissue in my lingual tonsil area which made me feel as if I was swallowing a chunk of debris every day and caused me pain while singing. Not trying to scare anyone here, but its day three and I still fear swallowing my own saliva. I have had good moments, but mostly when fully under the Lortab generic (hydrocodone) elixir... I wish anyone going for this operation good luck, and you may want to bolster your body somehow before you go in. Ask your doctor. Take care everyone.
