Adult tonsilectomy

Gary ~ your posts have been really helpful. I am currently scheduled to have a UPPP (for mild sleep apnea) performed on May 5th at a military hospital in Rota, Spain (my husband is active duty). I was terrified after reading all of the posts until I got to yours. I am a strong BELIEVER and will have a lot of prople praying for my recovery which I think is key. Don't get me wrong ~ I am still really nervous ~ I don't think I have a very high pain tolerance. I have written down all of the recommendations from you and others and will definately be somewhat prepared. My husband is great and is taking leave to be with me for 10 days, maybe longer depending on what my needs are. I also have a very caring 15 year old who said will be there for me as well. I guess what makes me the most nervouse is the fact that I am 40 and have always been told that a tonsilectomy in the adult years is extremely dangerous and shouldn't be performed. I can see that it is done more than I ever imagined. Anyway, I will post again when I have the surgery to inform others of my progress so they can, too, track another persons experience. Many prayers to all who have this done.
