Gosh I feel for you. I have them too, but fortunately meds worked for me - just a bit drowsy with them. With my diagnosis, it was recomended to try biofeedback. I can avoid some of the meds with the basic measures of controlled breathing. Also, I had an attack one day when I had an appt for a massage. My therapist made it go away in just 10 minutes.
