Fibromyalgia and chronic foot pain

What you are describing sounds very much like peripheral neuropathy, which is a condition that is common with diabetes. It is caused by deterioration of the nerve endings in the extremities. The result is that the nerves "fire" at odd times, causing a sensation like walking on sand barefooted, or burning. It starts out as a prickling, and graduates to burning and then stabbing pain. It is common at night. Does this match what you are experiencing? I am diabetic, and have peripheral neuropathy, and your symptoms sound identical to mine. I have never heard of it attached to fibromyalgia before, but who knows. Good luck, Tam
