Dear Carin, so sorry about your father..My mother has dementia but is a lot older than your dad. wha twe were told was that if she could not get in home care thru the local Dept of human services, one of us would hav eto live close to her or move her in with us as she got worse..so far she is doing good and lives in an apt building with older people and is on home care.... so check out the Dept of Human Services in your fathers area and if he is on diability he should qualify for in home care.. if not you may consider moving him to where you or your brother live.But stay strong and do a lot of research and all will be well..{{HUGS}} Linda S
