Dementia can be a very difficult thing to deal with for everyone involved but there is help. Have you contacted your local Alzheimer's Association? They have information on all types of dementia's and on resorces available for you and your father. You will should be able to find your local chapter in the phone book or on the national web site www.alzheimers.org . Hang in there and do not try to do it all alone!
