Have you tried the lifestyle changes recommended for hiatal hernia. Worked for me: stop drinking coffee (it irritates valve between esophagus & stomach), no tight belts, sleep with high head (2-3 pillows or elevate head of the bed 6 inches, do not bend over after eating. My bed was too heavy to lift, so I bought a big foam wedge to raise my head. I believe alcoholic drinks may also cause a problem.
