Hi Donna, I think you are right about the build up in our system of the Prednisone, and that it might take about 2 months for it to dwindle down after we have been on it for as long as a year or more. After all, there are warnings that come with the Prednisone, that mention the need to let doctors know if you were once on this medicine, even if you have been off of it for a year. I hope I get to that stage, though! Lol! So far, it looks like I'll be on this for a long time, but I'm not that worried. The dose is low at 7.5mg, and my rheumatologist has assured me that it is a pretty safe dose even for long term. Also, thanks to the Prednisone, I can exercise and keep my strength up, and that's good for the bones too! Just being able to have my life back is much healthier for me than having to lie around the house too tired and crippled to do anything. Thank goodness for Prednisone! Best of luck to you Donna, and to all who are struggling with health problems! I'll keep my fingers crossed for your success in tapering the Prednisone too! Sharry
