I had this. Are you seeing an orthopedic surgeon? If not, go. I had a disc rubbing a nerve causing the pain (herniated) I had the disc shaved down to get off the nerve and now feel fine. The pain and stiffness after surgery is not easy, but you will get drugs for this. I felt normal again after 5 weeks. If the O.Surg. tells you they can help, GO FOR THE SURGERY> THE PAIN ONLY GETS WORSE. I had this when I was 49 yrs. old
