Judy
I did it all--numbness of the toe, radiating pain, heat, ice, epidural steroid shots, that "thing" that transmits electrical pulse, rest, walking, steroids, physical therapy, chiropractric--walked with a cane for 6 months, 25 advil a day, pain so bad I cried in the grocery line, in front of my sixth graders--you name it. Finally--SURGERY! And I have been pain free ever since. DO IT! Had a microdiskectomy (sp?), took off of work for a month and never regretted it. Best of luck.
