I am a 51 year old South African from Johannesburg. I have a congenital, deteriorating thoracic kyphosis of 65% and I have been delaying surgery for 9 years because until recently I had very little pain. I have now been told that that I have a small window of time , because of bone loss, to have the surgery and I am terrified! The worst case scenario apparantly if I don't have the operation is that by 60 I will very bent and in considerable thoracic and lumbar pain. I see that you are all relatively young and I am really interested to hear of your experiences but are there any older kyphoses out there with my problem?
