I, too, have Hashimoto's. I have Hypothyroidism, which is a sluggish thyroid. The medicine you take attempts to bring you to the level of hormone that you should be producing. A doctor discovered nodules on my thyroid several years ago when I happened to see him for a sore throat. I have had thyroid scans & ultrasounds to check on the nodules, and even biopsies because one of the nodules continues to grow larger. Hopefully the medicine might make the nodules smaller, but that is not a guarantee. The doctor will probably start your daughter on a small dose of medicine, and then check at certain intervals to see when her levels are where they are supposed to be. Good luck to your daughter!
