I have Lupus and have applied for SSI. I have just started the process so I don't have too much more information than that. You need to talk to your rheumy so they know what you're considering. There is paper work to do intitially and they will collect all your medical records. I know there are others with Lupus who are on SSI. I just recently had to quit work as well. Now, I can't imagine going back. I can hardly handle going to the store. Just go to the Social Security office near you and get the starting packet of papers.
