Laura O.
I was glad to hear from you Laura P.! It seemed so long since I had posted, that I wondered if anyone who had been posting me before my surgery would still be looking here for any news. I got the idea that recovery could take quite a while when the social worker at the hospital came to see me and told me to apply for Social Security Disability benefits. I have already passed my 6 month waiting period, and am only 7 weeks post surgery! I go back for my next checkup visit/x-rays, on Aug. 19th. I am hoping for good news as I had a small mishap last week. As I was getting into my dad's truck, one of the metal straps holding the running board gave way, dropping me back to my feet. On the way down, I banged my head pretty good on the door. I am sporting a right nasty bump on the head, but my c-collar kept my neck stabilized pretty well. The muscles at the base of my neck were sore for a couple of days, but no pain in the neck itself. I am trying to be as careful as I can, and am still working on full range of motion exercises. Thanks for the words of encouragement. :) I wonder what's become of Philip? If he's had his surgery yet or not? If you read this Philip, I wish you well also. I'll post after I see drs. again next week. Take care. Laura :)
