I would not worry too much. I had the same. At first they tried metro gel to see if it was an infection.(They can't always tell what the abnormal growth is from when it is early) Then they waited a couple of months and did another pap. It was still abnormal so they waited a few more months then took a small painless biopsy. They found I had HPV and so they did a cervical freeze to kill the top layer of cells in the cervix, this is also painless. Three months later we did another pap and still was abnormal. So we waited 3 more months and did another pap and allwas normal. I have had normal paps for 2 years now. Just remeber get your pap every year...don't treat your own yeast infections if you have them...and cervical cancer is a slow grower and these yearly check ups are life savers. Most women with cervical cancer have not seen the doc for years.Last most doctors will want to see you immediatly if it is serious and they will usually tell you some thing if it is serious.
