I also was diagnosed as having plantar fascitis about three years ago. It hurt so much that I could not get out of bed without screaming. I too had been an avid runner, so I was horrified of the thought of not running. So you know what I did? I just ignored the pain and told myself that it didn't hurt. And guess what? It hasn't hurt since then. The doctor had wanted to operate and I said no way. I still enjoy running and I don't have any more pain. It is mind over matter. Tomorrrow I'm running for the American Cancer Society and I am thrilled to do it.
