My podiatrist suggested that I fill a plastic 2 liter soda bottle with water and place it in the freezer. Then I can place the bottle on the floor and gently massage my foot by rolling it over the bottle. The ice helps reduce any swelling I might have and it especially helps if I've been on my feet for a long time (which is rare for me). She told me the radius of that bottle size was better than something smaller (I was using a golf ball before this). It sounds like you have a worse case than I do. I've had this problem for 20 years but I only began to get treatment last year. This trick helps me and I hope it helps you, too. You have to be careful to leave a little empty space in the bottle for the water expansion as it freezes. I also suggest laying the bottle on its side while it's freezing. I think that lets the water freeze more evenly without bursting the bottle. Good Luck, Frank
