Why do you need to have a hysterectomy? Did you get a second opinion? You must if you haven't. If there is any way you can keep your ovaries, or even one, I feel it's a better choice because then you won't have to take hormones. But then, you will have to go through a natural menopause. I had a full hysterectomy a long time ago but I had a big cyst. When the Dr. went in, he found I had infection so he chose to take all the female organs. I am fine but truly wish he would've left the small portion of an ovary, as he said he could have. But he made the judgment that he felt was best for me and all is well. I wish you well.
