I too was diagnosed with RA three years ago. I was on methatrexate and plaquenil. However, because of my concern over these medications (side effects)--I have since stopped taking them. Currently, I take one vioxx daily and aspirin. My neck is stiff often. That is where I feel my ra the most. Hot water bottles seem to relieve stiffness and pain. My doctors were not happy to stop the methatrexate--however, when my mom was diagnosed with cancer in January (she too has ra) we asked if it could have been caused by metho. They said no that usually metho only cause a certain type of lymphomas. That was enough for me to here. Please check with your insurance again regarding celebrex or enbrill. I have heard good things.
