Linda My father has been told he is suffering from hemochromatosis due to repeated blood transfusions. It is not hereditary. Taking blood out to treat the hemochromatosis is not an option because of the disorder he already has makes his red blood count go down and that is what he needs the blood transfusions for. Is there any other treatment for this that you know of. All the information that I have found only talks about hereditary hemochromatosis and nothing about patients that have it because of repeated transfusions. Thanks, Janine
