I hope this helps. My cousin is 17 yrs. old and has been on medication since he was in Kindergarten for ADD. He was a very poor student they figured out that they were taking him off of his medication during the summer and putting him back on right before school started back. It was taking the first semester of school for the meds to get back in his system. So he was failing. He is now a Senior in school and he did take his Graduation exam and passed. But he had to take the test by himself. If he can take a test right when class begins he can pass it. If he doesn't and takes it at the end of class 9 out 10 he is going to fail. He is doing really good now but it was touch and go for a while. Hope this helps.
