Hi Charlotte, I went to a Rheumotologist and he has diagnosed me with R>A>, Osteo, Cervical Spondy.,Fibromyalgia and wasn't surprized to see me develop Trochanteric Bursitis as it runs along with Fibro. Surgery is not recommended. He has me on Bextra also. It helps some, and Ultram for pain. Sometimes it gets so bad that I have to take a hydrocodone. I have the swelling on each side of my hip and swelling like bumps in the groin area all around the hip. Sometimes I fall, and if I over due it I will pay for it later. My Rheumy. wants to keep me out of a walker or cane as long as he can and has me doing water excerise. This pamphlet can be found at Arithritis Foundation.com. It has helped and they have some more good information there. If you would like to check it out. The pamphlet is free. Hang in there, take your time and please don't over do anything.
