Hi, i am 18yrs old and from scotland. Earlier this year i was taken in for a tonsillectomy. Everything went smoothly, however one week later the bleeding started. I woke up to be greeted with a pillow covered in blood. I went to the doctors, where they gave me childrens antibiotics to help. Not much use they were. Two days afterwards another bleed occured this time I was taken into hospital, put on drips and antibiotics. The next day another bleed, this time however the hospital i was at could not handle my situation and i was rushed through to another. Again placed on drips etc. One day passed with no bleeding so i was presumed to be fine, wrong!! The minute i got in the door it started again. Had to be rushed back through. Turns out i had a burst artery in my throat, knowbody can pinpoint where this came about. in total i lost around 2 1/2 lts of blood, had to go through 3 blood transfusions, and go through another op to tie the artery. My organs were so close to failing. Neglagence was apparent during all stages, and to this day i am suffering from bad nightmares and deylayed shock. Sometimes it takes a little longer to recover.
