Chris - That's just awful about your RN degree after sooo much work. I've been trying to get a job without any luck since I can't stand or sit very long. You were asking about sitting: I've gotten to where I can sit at the computor for about an hour but I still get up & stretch repeatedly. I can only sit on something soft Do your sitting & side bones hurt? Mine do. I haven't tried accupunture. At this point I'm not plannning on it. My chiropractor has done accupressure. During the first couple months he was able to help me walk which was fantastic. I wasn't able to walk more than 12 steps without sitting down. I had gotten up to being able to walk into a convienience store which was fantastic! He couldn't help past that. I did try massage. As Annie said, it isn't really something that helps. The thing that's made me feel better (though not long lasting) is the hottub. I wish I had one. (I don't have a bathtub either, but there's no way it could be as helpful as the hottub). I get a 45 min ride to a health club (I really don't have any money - but we all try what ever we can). I soak & stretch in the hottub. Then I do light exercizes in the heated pool. (ONLY use a heated pool or your muscles will just knot up.) Then back in the hottub again. It definately relaxes the muscles & helps with stretching. Without it I hadn't been able to stretch, & my doctor (& I) were worried about muscle mass being gone. I've just started using some weight machines just on upper body. Ofcourse that is with the very minimum weight. You said you use L-glutamine. I haven't tried it. I just looked it up & it said it was good for body builders. Have you read much about it? How long have you been taking it? Does it seem to help?
