Hi Susan, in the past I've had other inflammatory joint problems such as DeQuervain's syndrome which is similar to carpal tunnel and also tennis elbow. In both cases the usual medical protocol of non-steroidal anti-inflammatories and cortisone injections did not help me. I had to wait years for these conditions to finally heal. I had surgery for the DeQuervain's and ended up worse!! When I started with this darn bursitis I thought " Well, here I go again." Maybe your condition will not end up being chronic. Many people get bursitis and are helped by the doctors or it just goes away. I sure hope that is what happens in your case.
