Hi Bean, Sorry to hear of your problems. Unfortunately I've heard the same from quite afew other people. I know I felt all alone (& abit crazy) til I started seeing others were having the same problem. Basically it seems to be from repetive movement stressing the area. My "history" with this: I've always been fairly active - walking only acouple miles a few days a week, but in general getting around just fine. 3 years ago (I hate even writing that # down) I helped unload wood off a truck - turning, & throwing, turning & throwing. We worked all day, & when we quit I was sore but no big deal. Next day I worked all day shoveling bark dust into a wheel barrel - shovel, turn, shovel, turn. So both days I was turning at my waist back & forth, & bending. I really hurt that night. After a week of laying down most of time, using ice/heat, it still wasn't getting better. It felt just as you said: pain in the hip, felt all bruised & hot, pain radiating from just above the butt across to the hips & down the thye. The sitting bone is extremely painful. But mostly the pain is in my hips. Did your doctor tell you about bursitis? The covering over the hip bone is the bursa. That's pulled very tight across the bone, causing the major pain. Cold just kills me cause all my muscles tighten up, & makes it unbearable. Sometimes I wonder if a warmer climate would help. I'm not able to move anywhere, but I do wonder.
