This is for the women with Left ovarian pain...Why have you not told your doctor about this yet? If it hurts to walk and sit than there IS something wrong!!!!!!!!! You asked if anyone has had a similar problem diagnosed by a doctor....YES! THOUSANDS of women have! So, Please, do not feel that you are alone, you are not imagining your pain, it IS real!!!! And there is a reason! It could be a cyst, it could be a ruptured cyst or endometrioma has caused the ovary to adhere to the uterus or bowel and that is causing pain. Your ovary is only 2-3 cm big so a cyst that is any bigger than that would cause severe pain. It is NOT uncommon for a cyst to get as big as 8 cm before it ruptures. There are other questions to be asked. Are your periods heavy and painful? For how long have they been like this? Many women are taught to belive that cramps are normal, when they are NOT!!! Slight cramping for 1/2 to 1 day may be acceptable but anything more than that is the sign of a problem!!!!!!Endometriosis perhaps, a disease that strike 5-10 million women in the US alone. You could also have a fibroid in your uterus on the left side and the pain is being defered. As you can see I could kep on guessing an lots of things that are VERY painful and may never come up with the exact thing that is causing your pain. Tell your doctor and have it checked out. Even if it does not show up on an ultrasound or any other test, that does NOT mean there is nothing wrong!!! Do NOT let it end there! If your doctor treats you badly leave and find a new doctor! Endometriosis will NOT show up on any test! A competant doctor must see it with his own eyes! You must have a laperoscopy to be accurately diagnosed. If it is pulling on organs or causing any deformaties that is the only thing they would be able to see via other testing. Good Luck and I hope you find some answers soon!
