The medication does help as do all the suggestions so far. I live in England so medications may be different - What is a GI doctor? Brenda - haver you hade other tests, I had a blood test for a hyper something bacteria -= if it is this it can be cured with antibiotics and pills over a short period of time and prevents the need for long term medication. Found all the other information useful as I have had a free reflux which hads caused scarring and a large hiatus hernia - so anticipate an operation in time. I also had a barium swallow which showed an unusal contour to to esofaghus which I shall now follow up. Its an unpleasant condition but livable with - good luck and best wishes to all. Does anyone know of chest or muscular pain associated to reflu/hernia?
