DID THEY GO THROUGH THE FRONT OF YOUR THROAT TO DO THIS...IF SO I HAD THE SAME OPERATION. REMOVED A VERTEBRE AND DISC AND INSTALLED ABOUT A 3 INCH PC OF BONE IN THE NECK. FUSED IT THEN USED A TITANIUM PLATE AND SOME BOLTS TO HOLD IT ALL TOGETHER. I HAD A NEUROSURGEON NAMED SARTORUS IN INDIANAPOLIS IND. I AM ABSOLUTELY SURE HE IS ONE OF THE BEST. I WAS AT A POINT WHERE I HAD LOST MOST THE USE OF LEFT LEG AND LEFT ARM HAD STARTED TO CURL AND WAS NUMB. SORT OF A BOB DOLE THING. THE DAY AFTER I HAD FULL USE OF LEG AND ARM AND ALMOST 100 PERCENT OF THE NUMBNESS WAS GONE FROM ARM AND LEG WAS 100 PERCENT. ARM WOULD BE 100 PERCENT ALSO BUT LIKE SO MANY I WAITED TOO LONG...THAT AND THE FACT THAT WORKMANS COMP HAD ME DOING PHYSICAL THEREPY FOR 2 MONTHS CAUSING MORE DAMAGE. FINALLY GOT A DOCTOR TO REFER ME TO A NEUROSURGEON AND IT WAS A QUICK MRI AND 1 WEEK LATER WE SET THE DATE FOR THE DSECTOMY. REAL BEAR OF IT ALL IS I HAVE A BUDDY THAT WORKS IN SAME OFFICE THAT HAD SAME SURGERY. SAME DISC INVILVED, BUT DIFFERANT SURGEON AND HE HAS HAD PAIN NOW FOR PAST 2 YEARS. BEEN ON EVERY PAIN PILL THERE IS AND BEEN THROUGH PAIN MGMT CLASSES. WE DONT KNOW HOW LUCKY WE ARE. 10 YEARS AGO WE WOULD HAVE BEEN IN WHEEL CHAIRS. DOC'S...GOTTA LOVE EM. I GIVE THANKS TO ALL THE STAFF AT INDIANAPOLIS NEUROSURGIONS AND ST VINCENTS HOSPITAL. THEY"RE THE BEST. VINCE
