Hi there. My son just had his tonsils and adenoids out on 12/28/01 and is doing great. He seemed to bounce back pretty quickly. I guess that it is true that the older you are, the harder it is. It was outpatient and he came home from the hospital wanting jello! He did complain if the pain medicine wore off, so after a couple of times of going through that, we did not let it happen again! The most important advice that our nurse told us was to be sure he drank a lot!! She said not to worry if he didn't want to eat, but he must drink lots of fluids! He did want to eat, though. For about a week and a half, it was jello, popsicles, pudding and soup! He is now eating anything he wants and has been released by the ENT. Good luck to you!
