Healing time is dependant on age. I was 28 when I have my tonsills removed and I was lucky not to have complications. Relax alittle, it does help to not stress out too much. I know I was scared too. But it all turned out ok. And No your voice should not change. It will be alittle hoarse for a couple of days so eat so ice cream, or suck on some ice, it will help ease the pain. Plus they will probably give you some pain meds, in liquid form which also helps. You might not want to eat the first couple of days, but be sure to drink lots of fluids. It seems to help the healing.
