As a massage therapist, I see people with muscle pain. I also have leg pain, or restless leg with cramping or spasms up and down my left leg. But I have a Sacoriliac problem too which entraps the sciatic nerve in the piriformis which is located beneath the glueteal muscles and runs from the SI joint to the large knob at the top of the femur. THe sciatic nerve runs down the back of the thigh to the outside of the knee down to the outside toes. In the thigh, this nerve can curl when the nerve is not functioning properly and you can have tremendous pain stabbing from the front to back of the thigh. I quit taking vitamins with calcium carbonate, a man made calcium, I have less restless leg or cramping in the middle of the night. I am also going to a ortho-bionomist who relieves leg pain in specific muscles by gentle, pain free manipulation which releases any trapped nerves that may be causing the transient, moving cramps. You need more minerals than calcium or magnesium. You also need salt, especially celtic salt, a natural salt that has lots of minerals in it. Sodium is needed for the electical impulses that nerves need. We starve our bodies because some so-called expert thinks that one substance or one food is the culprit. A balanced meal, meaning one which balances the pH levels of your body fluids with a liquid or water soluble mineral supplement could help you tremendously. Massage also helps to relieve the toxic buildup of poor circulation within the extremeties, especially the legs of people who stand a lot. Massage also stimulates the lymph system to get rid of metabolic wastes. But most importantly, learn how to check your own pH levels. Too acidic or too alkalin can get your system out of whack quickly. Your body is trying to tell you to stop what you are doing to try to save itself. Even if MDs don't help, there are many Naturapathys or alternative doctors who will check you out from head to toe. You could also be allergic to milk.
