My father had Dysphagia. He could not eat or drink without it getting in his lungs and causing him to have pneumonia and I had to thicken his food to a consistency of pudding. You can buy a thickener something like cornstarch except you don't have to cook it. You use it as it is to make it in the consistency that you want. I used a blender after I cooked meats or etc. and put them in the blender with the broth or water if no broth and then put the thickner in and when I got it to the consistency that I needed I would give it to him. You can feed a person or have someone cook for you almost any food and then have it thickened. I even kept thickened water in the refrigerator really cold for him. I hope this may help someone.
