I too have a herniated disc in my lower spine, the second one I have had in 5 years, I am in agony, and once again I fear I will face surgery, nothing elsehas helped, I have tried everything under the sun. The first lot of surgery I had done 5 years ago wasn't too bad and quite honestly I am happy to go ahead again if necessary, anything to end this dreadful pain. One bit of advise though, if surgery becomes necessary go to a neurosurgeon not an orthopaedic surgeon, the scarring will be less and they are experts in dealing with nerve surgery.
