I feel so sorry for you guys! I have a five month old who cried constantly for the first few months of his life, and projectile vomitted all the time. He too is breastfed. Although we thought his problem could be GERD (gastro-esophogeal reflux disorder), it turned out to be a multitude of other problems...anyway, we tried everything! Things that eleveated the crying were: 1) Making sure he got enough sleep - the crying kept him from taking good long naps, so we put him to sleep on his stomach and he got more sleep that way. Your doctor may not agree with that, put it helped our son. 2) The excess crying was giving him gas, so he was given Levsin drops to break up the gas. Mylicon didn't work for him. 3) I held him on my lap upright for 30 minutes after feeding him. He often napped that way and slept that way at night, too. Now we're dealing with the repurcussions of that! He thinks my chest is his crib! 4) Lots of patience! He's five months old now, rarely spits up and crys much less. He is still a more difficult baby than my other son was, but he's taking solid foods well and still breastfeeding, and having more better days than not. Good luck to you and hang in there...it WILL get better!
