Be brave!My son vomited constantly for the first 2 yrs of his life.He was colicky,never slept well.I started out with milk-based formula and breast feeding-he vomited constantly and had diarrhea/constipation.After 3 months of that I insisted that he go to soy-based formula-no breastfeeding,and it continued.After one month on the soy,we changed him to Nutramigen-predigested protein formula.By the time he was about 9mths he was down to vomiting 2-4 times a day.The vomiting continued until he was about 3yrs old,we were so afraid to go anywhere,you never knew when he would be sick.This has also had psychological effects on his eating patterns as he has gotten older,he's going to be 5 in October.He's afraid to try new things- Thank God for chicken nuggets and fries!I'm almost done!After my daughter was born,she started the same thing.When she was 2 wks old and had gone from 7lb15oz to 4lb9oz,I said enough!Soybased formula for a week,same drill.By the time she was 1mth she was on the Nutramigen,by 2 mnths-NO vomiting and she was gaining weight.The Mds and I came to the decision my son&daughter had lactose intolerance and milk or milk protein allergy.Which most children outgrow one or more,hopefully.My daughter can eat all milk products with no problems, she will be 3 in August.But my son still has lots of problems with constipation,diarrhea,eczema,runny nose etc...We try to limit him to yogurt. I hope this helped a little.We where also taking him to a pediatric gastro Md to rule out other problems,he also had a hiatal hernia with reflux which has resolved.But he still has the reflux.
