I am 51, had the fusion done last yr. In my case they took a bone out of my pelvic and placed it in my neck...going in through my esophagus...I saw a new tec. which is worth looking into. they inj. cement into your neck.I don't have full motion of my neck. Prior to this I had lower back surgery, they put me on perm. dis-ability.They say I have a deterating spine. It was a hard pill to swallow. I think the worse part of the surgery was wearing that brace for 6 weeks...then I went to a soft one for about 4 weeks. Not a fun thing.
