I have carpal tunnel in both hands. I had both hands operated on but have permanent damage from waiting too long. Surgery definitely made them better since I couldn't even hold a pencil when I finally had surgery, but I cant' do constant repetitive typing etc. or they get bad. Wearing the wrist brace to bed really helps when they start getting real bad again (found in drug store or medical supply). If you ever have surgery get it done the new way (just small hole in wrist). I had one done that way and one the old way with full incision....old way severe throbbing afterward, new way no pain afterward!!! I also had the cortisone shots in both hands....only helped temporarily. I also got a Gel-Pad for my mouse and the smallest flattest mouse they sell (cheapest too). The straighter you keep the wrist and hand the better....any arching or twisting of my hand and wrist hurts after a short time. Hope this helps! Jean (from PA)
