Five years ago I was diagnosed with a thyroid disorder (hoshimoto's syndrome), and I urge you to ask your doctor to administer a simple blood test to evaluate your thyroid. I too was overly thin (95 pounds and 5'6"), shakey, cold, had difficulty sleeping and was always feeling stressed, and was prone to chronic colds, sinus infections etc. Luckily, a new doctor suspected the problem when I went in with a sinus infection. After getting the results back from my blood tests, she referred me to endochronologist who ran furthur tests. If your blood tests do show a thyroid abnormality, I urge you to have your doctor refer you to a specialist, as getting a thyroid disorder under control can be very tricky because the thyroid controls the hormones that stimulate emotions etc. My doctor told me that my particular form of thyroid disease is often misdiagnosed as manic-despression! After about 3 months, we had regulated my medication and I felt the best I'd ever felt in my life. The mood swings had diminished, my personality became calmer, I had some gained weight, and I started getting some sleep! Best of all, almost a year after I was diagnosed, I became pregnant at the age of 38! Please, please, please get your thyroid checked. Best of luck to you.
