I have had a face rash for a little over a year now, I'm 47 and never had a mark on my face, not even in growing up. My doctor tried three different creams, thinking I had some sort of fungus, then sent me to a Dermatologist. The Dermatologist spent 10 seconds looking at me, then said I had Rosacea. He gave me a prescription, said he'd see me in 3 months, and scooted me out the door... talk about feeling like I was part of an assembly line project, sheesh. Anyways, I've been on MetroCream for about two weeks, no change --- the Dermatologist said any improvement could take up to 26 weeks. My face is not bad, just mildly rashy, it's the little surface blood vessels in the cracks on the sides of my nose that are upsetting me. He says that is part of the Rosacea. I've exhausted the research on that and have found two methods to deal with, one being lazar surgery which my insurance doesn't pay for, the other which says there is a topical cream that reduces the blood vessels. Does anyone have any information on these little blood vessels? Also, I was given Hytone Hydrocortisone cream 2.5 percent, which I haven't used yet. I was not told it could cause me a problem long term as I've read here.
